If you are already half way through and have no hassles paying the rest of the amounts, you should not consider consolidation as a solution to pay off student loans. Because, when a student is taking student loans direct from the bank he is signing a contract for definite time duration. But, after consolidating the loans, they have to stretch the loan which also exerts impact in their post academic life.
